BreakAway.com Software Interface/Usability

With RTG backing Break Away, you can expect good things. The game selection is great and it is very easy to find what you are looking for. While browsing the lobby, the bottom is split into 5 categories; Table Games, Slots, Video Poker, Specialty Games, and Progressive. While playing blackjack and other table games, you can change the speed of cards by selecting Menu – Player Options. This will be absolutely necessary because they come out very slow by default (also because of the 2 hand max for BJ!) You can also make it full screen and turn off sound/dealer voices, but that's about it. To be reminded of the rules and payouts just click the green arrow on the left side. This window will appear until you close it.

By selecting Menu – Player History, you will be taken to your play history. It will automatically go to the history for that specific game, and you can see things such as Wager Amount, Amount won/lost, and what cards you and the dealer hand. This is much like a lot of the hand history views offered at poker sites.

Overall, the lobby interface and software were good at Break Away Casino. Backed by RTG, there really isn't anything I really hated. I just wish there were more things to adjust or tweak to make it a bit more enjoyable to the player.

The Blackjack variety's can be interesting, but for the most part I just stuck to the standard game. Every game has their own special rules of tweaks, and I didn't really know how I should play them profitably. For standard BJ, here are the rules/payouts: BJ pays 3:2, Insurance pays 2:1, Dealer hits a soft 17, You can double any cards, only 1 card when splitting Aces, No Surrender. You will also find Super21, Pontoon, MatchPlay21, FaceUp21, and Perfect Pairs. The limits on all 21 games were $1 min and $250 max.

For Video Poker, you can play many different varieties, although most are pretty similar. Just some minor adjustments to most, for example, Double Jackpot Poker pays special amounts for big hands (like 4 of a kind K-J) with an ace kicker. There also have some wild card games with weird combos for their pay table as well. Always bet max! The limits for Video Poker are 1 cent up to $1 (up to $5 for single hand games). Most machines offer 100 hand, so you could technically spend $500 in one hand by betting max over 100 hands.
